West Yorkshire

An England metropolitan county is West Yorkshire. Bordered by the counties to the south-west Greater Manchester, to the south of Derbyshire, to the south and south-east South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire to the east and north, and to the north-west Lancashire, and consists of five boroughs that are metropolitan, Calderdale, City of Bradford, City of Wakefield, City of Leeds, and Kirklees, is West Yorkshire.

The Urban Area of West Yorkshire is included, which is the most built-up and biggest urban area within the historic Yorkshire county boundaries, is West Yorkshire. From the West Riding County Council in 1974, Metropolitan County Council of West Yorkshire inherited the use of Wakefield's County Hall of West Riding, opened in 1898.

Due to high elevation and a location that is inland, in western areas especially, than counties further south, West Yorkshire tends to be cooler. From West Yorkshire are two of the big four supermarkets. In West Yorkshire wholly and still produces in considerable quantities, the vegetable, is the Rhubarb Triangle. Leeds and Wakefield Westgate, two mainline stations West Yorkshire have.

Also has Leeds Bradford Airport, Yorkshire's airport that is largest, is West Yorkshire. Also big in West Yorkshire is Rugby league. After the passage of the LGA 1972, West Yorkshire, in 1974, came into existence as a county that is metropolitan. Governed by the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, were organisations such as the West Yorkshire Metro, which continue to operate on this basis.

Contains, interspersed throughout the county, green belt, surrounding the Urban Area of West Yorkshire, is West Yorkshire. Has a climate that is Oceanic, similar to the United Kingdom's other parts is West Yorkshire. Though mining was still a significant employer in the Wakefield district at the time of the 1984-85 strike, many of the West Yorkshire mines closed in the 1960s during the Robens era.

In West Yorkshire's areas that are historic, particularly found in the Huddersfield town, several television series and films have been filmed. In West Yorkshire, there are three major football clubs: Bradford City and Leeds United: Huddersfield Town, which is in the Premier League of English football.
